Announcing March Wellbeing Warrior: Yolanda Scott
We are thrilled to celebrate Yolanda Scott and her incredible journey toward total well-being! Through dedication and perseverance, Yolanda has made significant strides in improving her health, mindset, and financial wellness.
Yolanda has committed herself to attending regular medical checkups, making healthier food choices by cooking at home, and carefully managing her carbohydrate and sodium intake. As a result, she has successfully lost weight and continues to work toward her ideal goal with determination and focus. A key factor in her success has been her involvement in Serco Omada, where she tracks her food intake, exercise, blood pressure, and glucose levels. With the support of Omada’s health coaching, she has adopted small, manageable goals that have helped her develop lasting healthy habits and stay motivated throughout her journey.
As a busy mom, Yolanda faces the daily challenge of balancing family responsibilities while prioritizing her own wellness. She has overcome these obstacles through meal prepping, regular exercise, increased water intake, and mindful eating. Her hard work has led to major achievements, including lowering her A1C levels—a significant milestone in her health journey.
Beyond her physical health, Yolanda is also taking charge of her financial future. With guidance from Voya, she is learning how to save and invest wisely, ensuring a stable and secure financial foundation. She recognizes that financial health is an essential part of overall well-being and is making proactive strides toward financial success.
Yolanda’s word for the year is “Complete.” She shared, “My one word to leave with everyone is complete. If we complete what we have in mind then we will achieve the goals we set out for ourselves and so this year I'm focusing on Complete health, mental and financial state of being.”
Please join us in congratulating Yolanda Scott on her outstanding progress! Her story serves as a motivation for us all to take charge of our health, finances, and overall wellness. Keep up the amazing work, Yolanda!

IBS Awareness Month: Understand & Managing Your Gut Health

April is IBS Awareness Month, offering an opportunity to focus on Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)—a common, yet often misunderstood gastrointestinal disorder that affects millions worldwide. IBS Awareness Month encourages open dialogue about the condition, helping to reduce stigma and support those affected.
Despite it being such a common condition, IBS is not understood as well as other bowel conditions – and no specific treatment or cure has yet been found. Given the difficulty in medically treating the condition, and because it’s not life-threatening, IBS can often be seen as ‘non-serious’, even by medical professionals. Those who live with the condition would tell you a different story.
The consistent cycle of recovery and relapse that is symptomatic of IBS, the nature of the common symptoms, the stress of constant planning to leave the house, the difficulty in diagnosis of the condition, the current impossibility of curing IBS can leave those suffering in a state of limbo. While there is no cure for IBS, many people can prevent flare-ups and manage symptoms with the right approach:
Healthy Diet: A balanced diet, including a low FODMAP approach, can help reduce triggers. Certain foods may exacerbate symptoms, so it's important to identify and avoid them.
Stress Management: Stress is a key trigger for IBS symptoms. Techniques like mindfulness, yoga, and meditation can help reduce stress and improve gut health.
Regular Exercise: Physical activity promotes regular bowel function and can help relieve stress, improving overall digestion.
Routine Check-ups: Regular visits to your healthcare provider can ensure you're managing your IBS effectively and help with symptom control.
Support and Lifestyle Tips
Track Your Symptoms: Keep a daily log of your food, activities, and symptoms to help identify triggers and patterns.
Prioritize Sleep: Consistent sleep helps regulate the gut, so aim for 7–8 hours of rest each night.
Self-Compassion: IBS can fluctuate, so practice patience and self-compassion as you manage your health.
Raising Awareness
If you or someone you know is dealing with IBS, it's important to consult with a healthcare professional to develop a personalized plan for effectively managing symptoms.
With the right lifestyle choices and support, managing IBS is absolutely achievable. Let’s join forces to raise awareness and improve the well-being of those living with this condition. Together, we can make a difference.
