Register for the First Rise to the Challenge: No Spend Challenge

Spending is built into our daily habits, from our morning trip to the coffee shop to unwinding at happy hour after work. Even when we try our best to stick to a budget, it’s easy to get sucked into buying stuff, leaving our savings to suffer. Sometimes the best way to shake up our shopping habits is to go on a spending freeze.

Take control of your finances and build better money habits with the No Spend Challenge! Whether you’re looking to kickstart your savings, pay down debt, or simply break free from impulse spending, this challenge will empower you to make mindful money decisions.

Why Join the No Spend Challenge?

  • Highlight your spending habits so you can see where your money is going and learn where to cut back.

  • Save more money since you will be cutting unnecessary expenses and spending less - and put it toward something meaningful, whether it’s an emergency fund, a vacation, or paying down debt.

  • Build better financial habits that will serve you for years to come.

  • Rediscover what truly matters—you’ll focus on non-material things and find joy in simple experiences.

  • Feel empowered to make intentional financial decisions that align with your goals.

The No Spend Challenge encourages you to pause unnecessary spending, focusing only on essential purchases like food, utilities, and bills. The goal is to become more mindful of spending habits, identify areas where money can be saved, and redirect those savings toward meaningful financial goals. Ready to see what’s possible when you say no to unnecessary expenses? Let’s do this!

How it works:

  • Limit Your Expenses. The goal of the challenge is to limit your spending essential expenses. For example, you still need to pay bills and buy groceries but skip the coffee shop or eating out.

  • Track and Monitor No Spend Days. Use the No Spend tracker to mark off each day you avoid spending and monitor your progress.

  • Weekly Emails and Helpful Resources. Each week includes tips and resources to help you save money and improve your financial wellness.

  • Earn Wellbeing Tickets and Rewards. Earn one Wellbeing Ticket for each week you complete and an additional 10 if you complete all four weeks.

Get ready and register today—the challenge begins February 17! Don’t miss out on the opportunity to improve your financial wellness.

Preventive Health: Take Charge of Your Heart Health

February is recognized as Heart Health Month, a time to raise awareness about heart disease and take steps toward improving our cardiovascular health. At Serco, we believe that taking care of your heart is a vital part of overall well-being, and we encourage you to make your heart health a priority this month and beyond.

Why Heart Health Matters: Heart disease remains one of the leading causes of death worldwide, but the good news is that many risk factors are preventable or manageable. By making small lifestyle changes, such as improving your diet, staying active, and managing stress, you can significantly reduce your risk of heart disease.

Simple Steps to Support Your Heart Health:

  • Eat a Heart-Healthy Diet: Focus on eating a variety of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins. Limit saturated fats, trans fats, and sodium to keep your heart in top shape.

  • Stay Active: Regular physical activity, such as walking, swimming, or cycling, helps maintain a healthy weight, lowers blood pressure, and strengthens your heart.

  • Manage Stress: High stress levels can affect heart health. Try relaxation techniques like deep breathing, meditation, or yoga to manage stress.

  • Know Your Numbers: Regularly check your cholesterol, blood pressure, and blood sugar levels. Early detection of risk factors can help you take proactive steps to protect your heart.

  • Get Enough Sleep: Aim for 7-9 hours of sleep each night. Good rest is essential for overall health, including heart health.

This month, take action, stay informed, and support those around you in their heart health journey. Together, we can build a healthier, stronger community, both at work and in our personal lives. Let’s make heart health a priority today—because a healthy heart leads to a healthier life!
