Keep Your Vision in Focus: Prioritize Your Eye Health

August is National Eye Exam Month, a reminder to make your vision health a priority. Your eyes play an important role in your daily life, from staying productive at work to enjoying the activities you love. Regular eye exams are an important part of preventive care and can help identify potential concerns early—even before you notice changes in your vision.
Many eye conditions can develop gradually, making routine exams an important step in protecting your long-term eye health. During an eye exam, your eye care provider can check your vision, assess overall eye health, and recommend care based on your individual needs.
You can also support healthy eyes with simple everyday habits:
Schedule regular eye exams based on your healthcare provider’s recommendations.
Give your eyes a break from screens by following the 20-20-20 rule: every 20 minutes, look at something 20 feet away for at least 20 seconds.
Practice healthy screen habits by adjusting lighting, reducing glare, and keeping screens at a comfortable distance.
Protect your eyes outdoors by wearing sunglasses that block harmful UV rays.
Fuel your body with eye-friendly nutrients by choosing a balanced diet with plenty of fruits, vegetables, and healthy fats.
This month, take a moment to check in on your vision health. A simple eye exam today can help you continue seeing clearly for the future.
