FEBRUARY 2025 WELLBEING WARRIOR

BRANDON RAMIREZ

Brandon Ramirez exemplifies the spirit of commitment and resilience in his journey toward better health and wellness. After experiencing a significant health scare in May 2024, he committed himself to prioritizing his well-being and embracing a more active lifestyle.  This commitment led him to join the Omada Health program in late 2024, where he began tracking his weight and blood pressure as part of his larger wellness transformation.

Brandon has set ambitious goals for 2025, focusing on both physical and mental well-being. Committed to healthier eating habits, he has already lost 5-7 pounds on his way to a 25-pound weight loss goal. Acknowledging the challenges of emotional eating, he remains determined to stay on track. His confidence grows with each milestone, reinforcing his belief in consistency and dedication. To further support his journey, he regularly takes part in races, primarily 5Ks and 10Ks, alongside his wife. Running together strengthens their commitment to health and keeps them accountable. Additionally, Brandon actively participates in Serco Wellbeing program activities to stay motivated.

As he continues his wellness journey, Brandon remains committed to the Omada Health program through Cigna and looks forward to participating in any and all Serco Wellbeing initiatives. YOLANDA SCOTT

We are thrilled to celebrate Yolanda Scott and her incredible journey toward total wellbeing! Through dedication and perseverance, Yolanda has made significant strides in improving her health, mindset, and financial wellness.

Yolanda has committed herself to attending regular medical checkups, making healthier food choices by cooking at home, and carefully managing her carbohydrate and sodium intake. As a result, she has successfully lost weight and continues to work toward her ideal goal with determination and focus. A key factor in her success has been her involvement in Serco Omada, where she tracks her food intake, exercise, blood pressure, and glucose levels. With the support of Omada’s health coaching, she has adopted small, manageable goals that have helped her develop lasting healthy habits and stay motivated throughout her journey.

As a busy mom, Yolanda faces the daily challenge of balancing family responsibilities while prioritizing her own wellness. She has overcome these obstacles through meal prepping, regular exercise, increased water intake, and mindful eating. Her hard work has led to major achievements, including lowering her A1C levels—a significant milestone in her health journey. Beyond her physical health, Yolanda is also taking charge of her financial future. With guidance from Voya, she is learning how to save and invest wisely, ensuring a stable and secure financial foundation.

Yolanda’s word for the year is “Complete.” She shared, “My one word to leave with everyone is complete. If we complete what we have in mind then we will achieve the goals we set out for ourselves and so this year I'm focusing on Complete health, mental and financial state of being.”

Please join us in congratulating Yolanda on her outstanding progress! Her story serves as a motivation for us all to take charge of our health, finances, and overall wellness. Keep up the amazing work, Yolanda!

APRIL 2025 WELLBEING WARRIOR

ELIZABETH GARRETT

Elizabeth faced a major setback in 2023 when she tore her ACL and MCL, requiring surgery followed by nine months of rigorous physical therapy. The road to recovery was long and challenging, but even after completing therapy, she realized her journey was not over. While she had regained mobility, her knee still lacked strength, and the weight she had gained during her period of inactivity placed additional strain on her joints. She knew she had to make a change not just for her knee, but for her overall well-being.

Determined to find a sustainable path forward, Elizabeth sought medical advice and underwent health checks. However, she soon realized that medicine alone would not provide the solution she needed. In November 2024, she turned to a nutritionist for guidance. Through this consultation, she discovered that her metabolism had slowed significantly due to her diet and inadequate food intake. Her body needed a reset, and she committed to making meaningful changes.

Elizabeth focused on increasing her lean protein intake, drinking more water, and becoming more active. With dedication and perseverance, she successfully lost 25 pounds, an achievement that not only eased the strain on her knee but also left her feeling revitalized. She was amazed at the transformation, proving to herself that change was possible at any stage in life, even when she initially doubted it. She credits the Wellbeing program for playing a crucial role in her journey. Seeing others set and achieve their own health goals inspired her to take a different approach and commit to her personal wellness.

Elizabeth’s story serves as a powerful reminder that self-reflection is key to change. She encourages others to ask themselves: “Are you truly happy with your current lifestyle? Is this the path you want to continue on?” For her, the answer was clear—she wanted more, and she took the necessary steps to achieve it. Change is always possible with the right mindset and support system.

Congratulations to Elizabeth on her incredible progress, strength, and determination. Her story is a powerful reminder of what’s possible with commitment and courage. Keep shining—you’re showing us all how far perseverance can take us!

MAY 2025 WELLBEING WARRIOR

GARDNER FOWLER

Gardner’s journey began at just 13 years old when he picked up his first cigarette. For the next 46 years, smoking became a constant part of his life. But on January 13, 2025, everything changed. At age 59, Gardner made a life-altering decision: he threw away his last pack of cigarettes and committed to quitting — for good.

In the early days of quitting, Gardner relied on Nicorette gum and patches for support — but only for the first three weeks. Now, regular chewing gum helps curb any lingering cravings. And while those cravings still pop up from time to time, Gardner’s mental determination is stronger. “There were a lot of cravings, and even now, for a brief moment, a craving will come,” Gardner admits. “But I tell myself repeatedly — if I have one more cigarette, that will be the one that kills me. And I don’t want to die. I have a lot of living to do yet, so it’s just not worth it.”

More than 100 smoke-free days later, Gardner continues to celebrate each new milestone, one day and one month at a time. After hitting the 100-day mark, he shared the news on Facebook, where friends and family flooded his page with encouragement and support. That encouragement, Gardner said, has helped fuel his commitment even further. Gardner’s colleague Deanna Lushmann nominated him for the recognition, sharing, “In talking to Gardner, I could see the pride he felt for getting this far, and those words of encouragement are indeed helping him stick to it.” And that pride is unmistakable. Since quitting, Gardner has noticed huge improvements in his health: better breathing, more energy, and even a newly awakened appreciation for food — “everything tastes better now!” His smoker’s cough has disappeared, he’s sleeping better, snoring less (much to his wife’s delight!), and climbing stairs has become easier. On top of it all, he’s lost 14 pounds thanks to walking more and eating healthier.

Even old habits like having a cigarette with tea or a beer have been replaced with healthier routines. Gum is now his go-to, and he’s finding joy in the little things that come with reclaiming his health. When asked what advice he’d give to someone thinking about quitting, Gardner doesn’t hesitate: “Just do it — you will feel a lot better… and you will smell a lot better too,” he said with a chuckle.

Gardner’s story is a powerful reminder that it’s never too late to make a change and take control of your health. His courage and perseverance are already inspiring others — including his son, who is now hoping to follow in his father’s footsteps and quit smoking, too. The recognition as Serco’s Wellbeing Warrior for May is a meaningful milestone that fuels his motivation even more. “This really encourages me to keep going,” Gardner said.

Please join us in celebrating Gardner Fowler as a true Wellbeing Warrior. His journey is an inspiration to us all. Way to go, Gardner! Here's to continued success and many more milestones ahead!

JULY 2025 WELLBEING WARRIOR

ROBYN BONE

Serco Wellbeing is proud to celebrate Robyn Bone as our Wellbeing Warrior — a champion of personal growth, professional purpose, and the power of small, intentional change. When Robyn Bone began noticing the subtle changes that often come with perimenopause — low energy, disrupted sleep, and a lack of motivation — she knew it was time to take control of her health and wellbeing. Balancing a demanding career, two kids in travel sports, and a fast-paced lifestyle had left her running on empty.  “I felt stuck — tired all the time, unmotivated to move my body, and relying on fast food more than I wanted to,” Robyn shared. “I knew something had to change.”

That turning point came when Robyn made a powerful decision: to dive headfirst into Serco’s wellbeing resources. She joined every event she could — from Mindful Moments and Rise to the Challenge activities, each small action sparked a bigger transformation. She also started shifting habits at home. She reworked the family budget to trade fast food for Home Chef meals that could be prepared in 20 minutes or less. She worked with a nutritionist and began using a menopause-focused app to track her progress and learn from expert videos. Within weeks, her sleep improved, digestion returned to normal, and her energy came back.

But her transformation didn’t stop with physical health — it reignited her professional life, too.

“I realized I had more to offer at work, but I felt uninspired and disconnected,” she said. “That’s when I chose to reapply to the Serco Women Mentorship Program — and it’s been phenomenal.”

Through mentorship, Serco Rising Bingo, the Everywoman Team, and intentional relationship-building, Robyn found a renewed sense of purpose and passion for her role. She made space for what she calls “brain breaks” — short, mindful walks during the day that help her reset and refocus. And she shifted her mindset: instead of chasing her old routine of daily 3-mile runs, she embraced small, sustainable wins that still moved her forward.

As a mental health provider supporting military service members, Robyn knows the weight of compassion fatigue. At times, she questioned whether she was still making a difference. Now, she shows up with clarity, energy, and intention — for herself, her family, and the people she serves. “I’ve been searching for that feeling of impact — and I’ve finally found it again,” she said. “These changes have made me more present, more patient, and more empowered to support others.”

Robyn continues to take full advantage of Serco’s wellbeing offerings — from Total Wellbeing On-Demand, TELUS Health, LinkedIn Learning, and the Serco Women community. Her journey is far from over, but she’s walking it with confidence and purpose. “I’m forever grateful for the renewed spirit Serco has given me. I know this is just the beginning — and I’m not stopping here.”

Thank you, Robyn, for reminding us what it means to live intentionally, rise to challenges, and create a ripple effect of wellbeing. You are a true Wellbeing Warrior — and your story inspires us all.

AUGUST 2025 WELLBEING WARRIOR

RILEY FIGLIOZZI

Congratulations to Riley Figliozzi, our August Wellbeing Warrior! Nominated by Katy Milano, who shared: “I am proud to have Riley on my team, and as an influence as a Wellbeing Warrior!”

Riley’s commitment to wellbeing shines across every dimension of life — physical, social, emotional, and community. She dedicates herself to fitness by going to the gym and participating in group classes 3–5 days a week, all while steadily training as a runner. What began as short 1–3 mile jogs has grown into an inspiring journey of resilience and growth. Earlier this year, Riley proudly completed her first 10K in March, followed by a personal best of 8 miles in 1.5 hours. That progress paid off on August 24th, when she accomplished her biggest goal yet — completing her 10-mile race in 2 hours and 9 minutes, a milestone she once thought impossible.

Beyond physical health, Riley is deeply committed to mental, social, and community well-being. She hosts women’s circles in her community, creating safe, supportive spaces for connection and self-care. She is also pursuing her graduate degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Capella University, where she was recently inducted into the National Society of Leadership and Success.

Riley practices what she teaches by journaling, staying active outdoors, engaging in therapy, and keeping a positive outlook, even during challenges. She also utilizes Serco’s EAP program and has participated in Rise to the Challenge activities.

Balancing work, graduate school, and her coaching business isn’t easy, but Riley continues to inspire others as a Life Coach, Mental Health Advocate, and role model for prioritizing well-being.

Congratulations, Riley — your dedication to growth, health, and community makes you a true Wellbeing Warrior!

SEPTEMBER 2025 WELLBEING WARRIOR

KIMBERLY LUKERT

This September, we’re excited to recognize Kimberly Lukert as Serco’s Wellbeing Warrior, nominated by her colleague Sandra Luckert. Kimberly may have only been with Serco a few years, but in that short time she has already built a reputation for her positive outlook, social spirit, and dedication to personal and team wellbeing.

From the start, Kimberly has brought her energy and enthusiasm to every task she takes on. She demonstrates what it means to balance both professional excellence and personal wellness, showing her team that you can take care of yourself while still giving your best at work.

Recently, Kimberly faced a challenge when she pulled muscles in her back while carrying materials down stairwells. For many, this kind of setback could have lingered, but Kimberly approached her recovery with determination. With support from tools like Hinge Health, she was able to heal quickly—back on her feet and returning to the ship within just a week. Her resilience not only highlights her commitment to her own health, but also serves as a reminder to others of the importance of recovery, awareness, and prevention.

What makes Kimberly stand out even more is how she turned her personal experience into an opportunity to help others. She is now sharing safe practices with her teammates—encouraging awareness of surroundings, demonstrating proper techniques for bending and lifting, and emphasizing caution in everyday tasks. By doing so, Kimberly is making wellness a team effort, helping to ensure that everyone can stay safe and healthy at work.
Kimberly’s story is a great example of how wellbeing isn’t just about personal habits—it’s about lifting up those around you. She combines her positive attitude with her knowledge of work skills, teaching and encouraging others in ways that strengthen her team and build a healthier, safer workplace culture.

Please join us in celebrating Kimberly Lukert as our September Wellbeing Warrior. She is a true role model of resilience, positivity, and the power of sharing wellness with others.

OCTOBER 2025 WELLBEING WARRIOR

STACY ROMNEK

Stacy’s journey highlights how intentional choices can transform every aspect of life—socially, mentally, physically, and financially. After returning to the United States from overseas, Stacy made a conscious decision to prioritize her family’s health and her own. She found a hotel room with a small kitchen, bought a set of pots, and began cooking meals that supported her body and mind. Drawing on her experience as an athlete, Stacy understands the profound impact nutrition has—not only on physical performance but also on mental clarity, energy, and overall wellbeing.

Stacy’s approach to wellness quickly extended beyond her own household. While preparing meals, she would make extra smoothies to share with new friends, using these moments to connect, build relationships, and inspire others to embrace healthier habits.  She has found joy in giving back, spreading her passion for healthy living to her family, friends, and community. “Wellness is even more powerful when it’s shared,” Stacy says, and her actions show just how true that is.  Through her experience, Stacy also emphasizes the value of Serco Wellness programs, which provide practical guidance, easy-to-follow tips, and resources to make wellness accessible and achievable for everyone.

One of Stacy’s most rewarding achievements has been improving her sleep. Before focusing on nutrition, she often struggled with restless nights and low energy during the day. By making mindful choices to nourish her body, Stacy now enjoys deeper, more restorative sleep and wakes up feeling refreshed and ready for the day. Stacy’s story is a reminder that small, intentional choices can create big changes.

Congratulations, Stacy, for leading by example and inspiring us all to prioritize health, wellness, and connection!
